Background and Education
Dr. John Coulter
Dr. Coulter and his wife Ashley were both born and raised in Knoxville and attended the University of Tennessee. Together they have five beautiful children. For his dental training, Dr. Coulter attended The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Coulter then completed a two year General Dentistry Residency and a one year Fellowship in Knoxville, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Following residency, he started Coulter Family Dentistry to serve the Knoxville community.
Dr. Dana Riley
Dr. Dana Riley was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. It was during her residency in Knoxville that she met Dr. Coulter. Today, Dr. Riley and her husband, Tim, are proud to call Knoxville home, where they love raising their four children.
Dr. Coulter and Dr. Birch have pursued advanced dental training at the nationally recognized Kois Center, Spear, and The Dawson Academy. They both have received fellowship designations within The Academy of General Dentistry, and Dr. Coulter has attained a Mastership designation from the Academy. They are proponents of lifelong learning, and achieve over 100 hours of continuing education each year.
Both doctors believe in the pursuit of dental excellence. They maintain memberships and are actively involved in several renowned dental organizations.
