TOOTH IS KNOCKED OUT

When teeth are knocked out seek emergency dental care immediately. While baby teeth should not be inserted back into the mouth, adult teeth may be inserted in some scenarios. If a permanent tooth is knocked out you should place in a cup of milk (first choice) or water (second choice) to remove any debris. If possible, replace tooth in hole quickly. Under both circumstances, go to your dentist office as soon as possible.

TOOTHACHE

Rinse mouth with warm water to clean away bacteria. Continue to use good oral hygiene, brushing and flossing. Do not place any pain medicine like aspirin, Advil or Tylenol directly on the area that hurts. Take the pain medicine according to manufacturers instruction and see your dentist as soon as possible.

BROKEN TOOTH

Rinse mouth with warm water and use good oral hygiene as best as you can. If you have facial swelling, apply a cold compress to the area. Again, go to your dentist as soon as possible.

POSSIBLE BROKEN JAW

Go to the emergency room at your local hospital or find a dentist in Knoxville, as soon as possible.
